Taj, Gateway of India and World education fair

A coupla of minutes after waking up, an uncle of mine calls to ask whether I want to go to an education fair in mumbai. I tell him that I will think and let him know. He says there's no time to think and that I should inform him within 5 mins. (Which is this tense I am writing in! it's pathetic! :|) I was about to say "Too Much!” But then realized it was for my good and the person calling me wasn’t exactly my best buddy who will listen to the curses of mine.

These are the days in idleness! I get up at any time between 11 am to 4 pm. After the CAT debacle, kuch psycho jaissa behave karne lag gaya hoon. {Beware of me guys and gals A virtual psycho!} Nonetheless, I have started looking for other opportunities. "If one road is closed, there are 10 other new roads opening" they say. I catch the gist of it now. It's amazing how you understand the true depth of these maxims when we see them happening to yourselves.

Anyways, so just to be kind and show my receptiveness to the "advice" of the elders and to escape conviction from the blame of not doing enough to catch the "so called opportunities" of a education fair I decided to give it a try.

On attending the fair, it wouldn't have taken a particularly keen mind to realize that the representatives of the various universities were providing the information with the same enthusiasm, as a criminal would have to the inquisitor. And the information being provided was nothing of the type “never heard before”. The same old marketing strategies (in case of "not so reputed" universities) or admission requirements (in case of reputed one’s). One way to overcome this boredom is to start asking foolish questions. Need an example! Here it is. I asked the representative of a Italian University "why do u think Italy is not as popular education destination as UK, US or Aus are?". She listened quietly and replied stoically "Because the national language of Italy is Italian and other's is English" whoa! That’s news! I didn’t know how to react. I collected the prospectus and quietly walked out!

The only "kewl" thing about the education fair was that it was held in Taj. You know what I mean.[:-P]. And yes, Taj is next to Gateway of India. I spent the rest of the evening walking across the romantic streets near the Gateway and talking with my Bestest friend. Belive me guys it is romantic!....Ohh....Did I forget to mention something?....yeah.. we talked on a cell phone. And yes the talk wasn’t romantic, just plain enquiries about health and current state of affairs![;)]

So guys today I make two promises. First: never attend an education fair. They serve no purpose. We can get all the information we need at the click of a mouse! And Second: If you break the first one, there are better things to do around than asking stupid questions.
